It's not THAT cold...

Usually around lunch time I click into my personalized Google homepage which automatically pulls all sorts of information from various webpages into one spot. This eliminates the temptation to spend an hour a day goofing off on the web, since in 5 minutes I can check to see who's posted on their blogs (rarely this one) and various other tidbits.

Being a good Texan (who must talk about the weather), a good Brit (who must complain about the weather), doing work related to the insurance industry (who must assess the risks of the weather) and SIL to a cotton farmer (who must pray for the right weather), I subscribe to a weather update.

And would you believe that it's usually warmer in London than in either the PK area or in West Texas? Yep, day after day I check and find this to be true. Just goes to show that perceptions can be wrong.

But when I got my jacket out one day this week, I had to begin being honest with myself. It gets cold over here.

It's only warmer because at noon, we're experiencing our high and you guys back home are experiencing your low for the day.

Even that small bit of mental consolidation will probably go away before too long... just means that Bree gets good use out of the Christmas present I gave her last year.

By following someone back to work after lunch, I did find out that there is a secret underground passageway into the office from the tube. Don't tell. Which means only about the 5-6 minutes from my house to the bus stop or train station is in the elements... plus waiting time at the platform.

Oh yeah... I forgot one thing... you're right, it's not that cold here (ever). If you see snow on the ground in the winter here, then it is called a MIRACLE. =:-D
