Not much time
It's dawned on me that Bree's returning home in about 36 hours. This is great news of course.
But it means that I don't have much time to write... somebody's gotta clean up the house before Wednesday and I don't think it's going to be my roommate.
But, I will say that the Legend of Zorro made me laugh - certainly more humorous than the first one. I think I still like the Mask of Zorro better.
And, on a deeper note, I'm starting to get excited about Thanksgiving, which includes a visit from my former roommate Mark & his fiancee. Allegedly they wed in July, but we haven't seen them since, so I don't know how it could really be official yet.
But Thanksgiving will be very strange... for the first time we have to figure out who's going to do what! Always before, everyone had their delineated responsibilities. Now, we have to decide who's going to get the turkey, who's going to make the pumpkin pie, who's going to light the candles and say the grace. And I don't know if we're going to be courageous enough to undertake the Coke salad. And we have to determine an alternative to watching the Cowboys. I'm thankful for the chance to be thankful, but it sure seems like it's going to be a lot of work. Where's the family when you need them most?

don't worry. We'll be in B-town with the J's enjoying pumpkin pies and turkey made by... well you know... and having our annual game of football out in the yard. It will be Thanksgiving as usual... minus ya'll... we'll think of you and be thankful! ya'll should start your own thanksgiving tradition... like tracing your hand and making a turkey that says "I gobbled up the competition" like I get to do because I won third place at my first ever debate tournament... :) I'm just like you matt!
Thanksgiving 2005 is going to be a strange one indeed. But a good one!
And, I got to talk to Bree and V & P a few nights (mornings) ago. Perfect. I miss you guys.
Who cares about the Cowboys?
Seriously though, while ya'll are trying to figure out what to eat and who is going to do what, the Cozart's will be sitting down to a nice home-cooked meal that will hopefully include Granny's dressing, along a number of desserts.
Oh, and Rachael, I have one up on you: I got to see Bree and Val and Pat a couple of days ago.
The family will be, as jfer said, with us! Don't worry, we'll think of you often throughout the fesitvities. The Lfoots will be with us on Friday and we'll have D's b-day party...I can only hope pin-the-tail-on-the-donkey is as much fun this year. One thing we won't miss is Bree's trip to the hospital...we hope you won't have that as part of your Thanksgiving tradition! We'll miss you, but we'll catch you at Christmas...!
I think you two should start a tradition of hosting Thanksgiving at your house and inviting all of your relatives. If you are lucky, your mother-in-law will do most of the cooking and your father will carve the turkey. All you have to do is buy the food, clean your house, and figure out where to seat everyone! I guess you probably don't remember many of the Thanksgivings at my house though as the last one I hosted was probably 11 or 12 years ago. Moving away from a "central location" presented a few problems and as I think about it, that could present a problem or two for you two as well! Whatever you do, and whoever cooks it, have a wonderful Thanksgiving! Aunt SS
so if i, as a relative, receive an invitation to come over for thanksgiving, should I assume that you guys, by being the invitee, would pick up the tab (maybe even let me grab some cash out of the hat before the bill is paid)
still hard to understand why the brits made you guys work on a national holiday, as cousin slade would say, matthew and bree are always on european vacation anyways. missed having you at grannys last nite just as RJ amd MJ and family also carved the turkey without you'all. dad
