How much would you pay for a haircut?
During lunch today, I supposed that I would get my haircut.
It's been a solid two months - hard to believe that it's been that long since I left my old job - and as some of you may recall, the last go was when I was posing as a male model for £5 and she proceeded to give me a Corps cut.
So I walked through the shopping areas around where I work. The first barber shop I walked past looked pretty swanky. With a sinking suspicion, I walked in and grabbed a business card and quickly walked out, not quite quick enough to avoid contact with one of the stylists.
As I feared, I glanced at the card:
£28 Hair cut
£8 Additional Styling
£12 Light Head Massage
I didn't read any further.
The second, and last option (listed under "Services" on the centre map), was even more ritzy.

Finally, a topic that i feel i am qualified to comment on. I struggled for the past two years, trying to legitimize $16 haircuts. Then I read Ezekiel 5:1 -
And thou, son of man, take thee a sharp knife, take thee a barber's razor, and cause it to pass upon thine head and upon thy beard: then take thee balances to weigh, and divide the hair.
So I went to Target and bought a clipper set for $11.99 (includes 5 different settings, brushes and a pair of clipping scissors). And I have been barber-free for 5 months now. And if anyone needs them, i have 3 trash bags full of 1/2 inch long locks.

So, I was doing some internet reading, and on a whim decide to check into my old London friends. What's this? Many posts I haven't even read? I don't really know what to do with this.

It seems that I spend approx. 70 Euros whenever I get my hair cut. Of course, I have to cover my graying hair, so that costs more AND I cannot forgo the blow dry and style - it is a slice of heaven to have someone else do all the work.
I've often said that if I win the lottery, I'll pay someone to wash, dry and style my hair 4 times a week.
