Roommate issues
Most of you know that we received notice that our landlord was selling our house. It's quite dreadful pondering giving up the roof terrace.
But we recently took on a roommate - and now we're glad that we'll lose him in the move.
It seems like everyday recently, I come home and there's no lights on, so I assume I have the place to myself. But when I turn on the lights, he's in our bedroom and has obviously been in our bed! He runs out pretty quickly, but still.
And he's always leaving nasty things laying around in the kitchen.
Bree and I have talked at length about how to solve this issue, but since we're moving out soon, we've been trying to just stick it out.
But would you believe that today I came home and he was sitting in the trash can. Yes, you heard me right, sitting in the trash can. He seemed a bit delirious and I began to laugh when I realised he was stuck.
I guess I should sympathise more, but I was so happy. In fact, I didn't help in out until Bree got home an hour later!
And then, we turned the trash can upside down, put it in a trash bag and through it in the rubbish closet downstairs.
Finally, the mighty mouse had been defeated by his own tenacity. This guy had us convinced he was a huge rat for quite sometime. He had incredible dexterity that allowed him free reign over the entire house. In fact, one day, I watched in amazement as he climbed down the leg of a stool and scampered off. His favorite was a 4-drawer high canvas drawer set, which he apparently could scale at will. It's nice to have an admirable foe. In the end, I'm not sure if the poison caught up with him (he'd devoured it like it was a handful of nerds) or if he really defeated himself by jumping into the trashcan from the counter 2 feet away. There's absolutely NO way that he climbed up the plastic trashcan which was outward slanted.
Curiosity killed the mouse.
P.S. I know it's a strange topic to resume posting with, but so much has happened recently, that I just haven't known where to start.
