One down, 80 to go.

We just want to thank all of you who have been there with us through the ups and the downs, and the times that you weren't sure we were going to make it... back when we were dating that is.

The last year has been absolutely wonderful - we've experienced much, learned much, and grown much... most importantly we've taken strides towards becoming one and found that our love for each other has grown deeper than we could ever have imagined.

I like anniverary weekends! And can't wait for the many yet to come.

Bree obtained tickets to our first football match - Arsenal versus Middlesborough at Highbury. We found ourselves among 39,000 people doing bizarre chants that were apparently supportive of their team and occassionally hostile to the opponent... it was really a lot of fun. The 'boro team didn't enjoy it quite as much - Arsenal scored a touchdown, err... seven goals and managed a shutout. And now we've accomplished Matt's primary goal for living in Europe - going to a proper football match.

We began preparing our things for our big move next weekend - quite similar to where we were at this point in our lives last year! And watched the movie "London Suite" that we received as a Christmas present from R&M&L J.

Today after church we joined some new friends for a delicious curry and many laughs about our marriages and other miscellaneous stories. Now we're being cooked an anniversary dinner by another newly married couple who will then join us for ice skating at Sommerset House - which was to have been Matt's surprise gift to Bree... unfortunately she came across the credit card receipt. But, nevertheless, she's very excited as this is something that she's wanted to do for months.

Hopefully we won't have any major addendums to this post before the night is over - Bree may be quite vicious on the ice.

After our first year of marriage, our conclusion is that it's the best decision we've ever made. If love is a choice, we picked the right path - we can't wait to see what more is around the bend.

Note to family: Not that we're expecting you to call, but if you were trying, we won't be home before 11:30.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

Wow! So much to write about. We've had a fantastic few weeks - especially since we weren't having to work. Now it's back to the grind.

I suppose one of my new year's resolutions should probably be about frequency of blog posting... Bree and I resolved to make our New Year's resolutions next weekend. My coworkers don't think that's a good start, but I explained that as our anniversary is coming up, that's when the new year really starts for us!

I'm going to head home... I think my body could use some sleep, considering that I went straight to work after my flight landed at 7 this morning.
