Hypothetical ethical dilemma
Suppose that someone went to a fair bit of time and effort to send you a really nice package in the mail with a very thoughtful gift.
When the package arrives it has been damaged in transit.
When the person asks you whether you received the package, do you tell them yes and that it was very nice?
Or do you tell them that you appreciated the thought and savoured the gift mentally, but admit to the tragic end to the goods?
Please discuss and revert with your conclusion. In appreciation, I will provide as many posts as there are commenters within as many weeks... I will post more often if you help me out.

ug are you freaking kidding me. i knew that was going to happen. tears.
i think you already got your answer. ^^^^
or, was that the sharester being funny?
Oh, dear. I guess I would tell the truth, presuming it was someone I know well enough to laugh with. What will you do? Or is it too late?
Just tell her the truth. and glue it back together. and then send her a really nice/unbreakable package in the mail to make up for the tears.
it's the thought that counts?
solution to the the "aggie couple's plight", send the sharester some trident, and POST another story before your next bank holiday!
so were those hypothetical posts to go with the hypothetical dilemma?
i know you guys are aggies, but come on....i sent you a 1000 piece jigsaw puzzle and you thought it was a painting???....and people wonder why aggie jokes exist....gosh!!
