Happy Thanksgiving!

Our first Thanksgiving came and went - we were more successful at enjoying ourselves than the Aggies. We listened to the game on the radio as we devoured a gourmet turkey, creamcheese corn, cheesy potatoes, green bean casserole, stuffing, pecan and pumpkin pie.

Hope you're as thankful as we are for all of the blessings that we have been given over the last year!

Turkey and other edible ingredients - $35 USD

5 vases that can doubled as wine glasses - $18 USD

Breaking into a flat and taking pictures of their thanksgiving feast in order to pull one over on all of your "ignorant" American family and friends - Priceless...however getting called out on your own blog - SHAMEFUL!!!

Nice try kids - by the way nice touch with the pics on the refrigerater.

Happy Thanksgiving Matt and Bree.

We miss England more than we thought we would, so be thankful while you are there. Though, it does appear that you are.

I hope that the holidays are good to you. Are you spending it there? We are heading back to Land of Mid, but I fear that there will be little time to spend with people other than family. Not that that is a bad thing. But perhaps we can meet up.

Wow! Someone is a messy eater. I can't believe how much turkey is actually around the pan instead of in it. Do you know how many starving kids there are in Africa that would love to be that messy.

Also, if you are planning on taking a picture of your place setting, please make sure that the brand new table cloth that you use does not still have the fold creases in it.

I think that everything looks wonderful! And I think that we all know who the "ignorant" Americans are that hermano was refering to now don't we! Missed you both, but see you in a few weeks at Christmas -

At my house, we don't leave the wishbone on the table. We break it apart to see whose fantasy bball team will end up in first place.

what exactly is cream cheese corn? sounds questionable to me.

did your mom say you were allowed to drink that stuff on Thanksgiving? As I recall we always drink... well, we definitely don't drink THAT.

Tu hermano - maybe the pictures on the refrigerator would help build the case that this dinner was indeed in our own apartment! Ask your mother if it looks like our place.

Dan & Andrea - we too will be headed back to W.Tex with the same situation. Will keep you posted, as we might be in Midland for a day or two in early Jan. We are fortunate enough to get to come home for the holidays! But we will then come back to snow and all that England has to offer.

Slade - the turkey on the table was what we were saving for you, since you said you were coming over... by the way, do you also iron your dollar bills or just your tablecloths.

Christy - glad to have one supporter! We look forward to spending time with you when we come home.

Cynthia - never fear. We did indeed break the wishbone - only for the right of hosting thanksgiving in five years. But I guess it had the additional effect of putting me on top of fantasy bball as well.

Bekah - cream cheese corn may not be the proper name but it properly describes the dish... corn in a creamy sauce of butter, milk and cream cheese.

Jfer - we always drink Canada Dry Ginger Ale which was not available at our grocery store. We substituted something called Appletiser, a fizzy apple drink. THAT on the table was sparkling grape juice.

ALL - your active participation makes us feel guilty for not posting in so long! Will try to keep you posted after a short trip to Amsterdam this weekend.

Since you two have so much time to spend for travel, why not pop on over to Asia while you're at it? I'll treat you to all the dog soup your hearts desire.

And, I made jalapeno corn (cream cheese corn) as my contribution to the English-speaking community Thanksgiving dinner. It was almost like being home. Ok, not really.
