One down, 80 to go.

We just want to thank all of you who have been there with us through the ups and the downs, and the times that you weren't sure we were going to make it... back when we were dating that is.

The last year has been absolutely wonderful - we've experienced much, learned much, and grown much... most importantly we've taken strides towards becoming one and found that our love for each other has grown deeper than we could ever have imagined.

I like anniverary weekends! And can't wait for the many yet to come.

Bree obtained tickets to our first football match - Arsenal versus Middlesborough at Highbury. We found ourselves among 39,000 people doing bizarre chants that were apparently supportive of their team and occassionally hostile to the opponent... it was really a lot of fun. The 'boro team didn't enjoy it quite as much - Arsenal scored a touchdown, err... seven goals and managed a shutout. And now we've accomplished Matt's primary goal for living in Europe - going to a proper football match.

We began preparing our things for our big move next weekend - quite similar to where we were at this point in our lives last year! And watched the movie "London Suite" that we received as a Christmas present from R&M&L J.

Today after church we joined some new friends for a delicious curry and many laughs about our marriages and other miscellaneous stories. Now we're being cooked an anniversary dinner by another newly married couple who will then join us for ice skating at Sommerset House - which was to have been Matt's surprise gift to Bree... unfortunately she came across the credit card receipt. But, nevertheless, she's very excited as this is something that she's wanted to do for months.

Hopefully we won't have any major addendums to this post before the night is over - Bree may be quite vicious on the ice.

After our first year of marriage, our conclusion is that it's the best decision we've ever made. If love is a choice, we picked the right path - we can't wait to see what more is around the bend.

Note to family: Not that we're expecting you to call, but if you were trying, we won't be home before 11:30.

Congrats! I am very happy for you two. I think that is is wonderful when two very deserving people find the love of their life.

I read a very disturbing statistic once that said that 50% of all marriages where both people are under 25 fail within the first 2 years. So, from an outsider's perspective I am more than confident that you two will make it well past this second year.

Oh yea, where are you moving to? You've mentioned oxford, are you taking the plunge?

Happy Anniversary! We're so glad that you two decided to get married...we secretly hoped for it for a long time - perhaps longer than the two of you!

We love you,

M,R,and LJ

One other statistic that I came across, very disturbing as well, - one out of every 4.5 marriages that commemorate their first year of being wed by yelling four letter words in public (or at a futball game) and attempting triple sowcows ends in a very ugly scenario that involves both farm equipment and an angry father-in-law. Oh well - you guys are probably in that 3.5....happy anniversary and good luck with the whole 50% of people under 25 not being potty trained...or whatever that other post said.

Now Jess, not everyone who peruses this blog has spent 20+ years becoming accustomed to your sarcastic and yes, sometimes witty retorts. Kindly limit your sarcasm to either (1) people whom you know who will not be offended or (2) people whom we don't care if they are offended. As Category #2 should not apply to anyone who is taking the time to comment on this blog, your comments should henceforth be directed only at those who fall within Category #1 (i.e. M&B, FIL, SC, RA, possibly C&C, and any others who give you expressed permission.)

Apologies to anyone who has been offended by earlier remarks. Happy blogging!

I must now apologize and accept my censorship like a man......a young man....really an immature kid....

I wanted to respond to my sister with a comment or two, however I have been studying the great French philosopher Voltaire and he did once say that "A witty saying proves nothing".

So be nice and considerate kids - and also remember what the great philosopher - Yogi Berra once said - "Always go to other people's funerals, otherwise they won't come to yours".

Matt and Bree,

As the unofficial blogosphere representative in the Cozart family, I am appalled by the attempt at censorship that is taking place on this blog! How dare you attempt to block the witty and satirical musings of my great cousin, Jess of Stephens. I agree that certain forms of censorship must be incorporated, such as inappropriate uses of choice words, derogatory comments towards me or my blog, or any comment that hints at the Londoners doing any work.

If there are any further questions about what would qualify to be censored, please feel free to contact me.

Your friendly, neighborhood blogosphere free-speech advocate,

Slade

I'm with Slade. Jess is Jess and there is no stoping him. If you tell him not to do it, it makes him want to do it more.

Boo on the censorship!
